A GPIoS Training Center has been set up as part of the GPIoS initiative. The training center will spearhead the training and consultancy activities of the project. The center consists of a pool of consultants and trainers who will visit the companies and offer them consultancy and train them to SWITCH to Cleaner Production. The center has recruited 8 trainers/consultants in addition to the 10 consultants it already has. Some of them have been sent to Austria to be trained in ECOPROFIT approach.
During the 4-year period of the project, the center will assess the current process of the participating companies (from Metro Manila and CALABARZON region). They will offer free workshops, training and consultancy to the companies to help them adopt an optimum and green process with hardly any investment from the company. This will in turn benefit the company and environment.
On completion of the project, the center will continue to advocate for Cleaner Production and ECOPROFIT approach. It will target the other regions in the Philippines and will continue to offer trainings for companies to optimize their process.
