ECOSWITCH Club Workshop on Energy Management and Efficiency Techniques

On May 2 & 9, 2012 ECOSWITCH Certified companies participated in the advance topic on Energy Management and Efficiency Techniques held in Berjaya and City Garden Hotel in Makati City.

The workshop started with welcoming remarks from the ECOSWITCH Project head, Dr. Thomas Dielacher. It was then preceded with an introduction to the Energy Management Systems by Mr. Christian Angerbauer and Engr. Rolando Sumabat, energy expert- technical consultants. An introduction to the Energy Switch tool followed right after and was presented by Mr. Joshua Albarina. The tool provides a simple approach on energy management covering from knowing energy sources to conservation potentials and possible savings.

The highlight of the workshop was the series of “Efficiency enhancement” interactive discussion on lighting, compressed air, air conditioning, motors, and pumps and blowers. In between the inputs were group exercises intended to aid companies compute their potential savings once they apply efficiency techniques into their systems. Another exercise was about deciding the best compressed air solution in a factory. Positive feedback were received from the participants and practical learning gained from the workshop can be easily adapted in their shop floor.
